Maintain a steam shower and generator
Steam generators have model-specific draining, flushing and water-quality requirements. The enclosure also needs ventilation and prompt drying to control moisture.
Recommended timingClean routinely; service and descale by manual
What to do
- Keep the exact generator, control and accessory manuals, and follow their cleaning, flushing, automatic-drain and service intervals.
- Wipe the enclosure after use, run the bathroom exhaust fan and leave the door positioned as the enclosure manufacturer recommends so surfaces can dry.
- Clean the steam head and visible surfaces only with products approved for their finish; never block or cover the steam outlet.
- Have mineral buildup, reduced steam output, leaking, error codes or a failed automatic drain evaluated by a steam-equipment professional.
- Do not improvise acids or descaling chemicals. Use only the process and product permitted for the exact generator and local water conditions.
Steam and the steam head can cause severe burns. Keep people away from the outlet and disconnect equipment only as the manual directs.
