Paint, sealant and drainage are the protective system for engineered-wood siding. Annual observation matters more than aggressive cleaning.

What to do
- Inspect at least yearly for leaks, cracks, wear, damaged finish and failed sealant.
- Clean with mild detergent and water using a cloth, sponge or soft brush, then rinse with a garden hose.
- Do not pressure-wash; high pressure can force in moisture and damage the finish.
- Keep sprinklers off the siding, maintain gutters and preserve the clearances required by the product instructions.
- Touch up small bare areas with compatible paint and have larger damage repaired by a siding professional.
