Maintain a whole-home boiler

Combustion, venting, pressure, pumps, controls and water quality make annual boiler service a professional task.

Recommended timingProfessional service every year

What to do

  1. Schedule annual service with a boiler-qualified technician before the heating season.
  2. Between visits, keep the boiler area clear and observe the normal pressure and temperature shown in the owner manual.
  3. Check visible piping, radiators or manifolds for leakage, corrosion and air-related noise.
  4. Follow the manual for any homeowner-level condensate neutralizer, low-water cutoff or system-water checks; do not add water repeatedly without finding the cause.
Safety and service boundary

Do not open combustion, gas, electrical or pressurized-water components. Use a qualified boiler technician.
